The Laptop that Learned to Spell

Somebody is always there to help you succeed.

A cold dark day inside the box, the laptop was sleeping. He was a dumb one without any knowledge of anything. But he didn’t care. All he loved was the infinite sleep that he had inside the box. There was a lot of tumbling and jerking, but he didn’t even stir nor open his eyes. All was too good inside that confined box of his that he loved.

Some days went past when he heard someone trying to open his box. He grew restless, but he couldn’t do anything. He couldn’t move nor say anything to prevent whoever that was trying to open the box. But, although he couldn’t do anything, he was out. Out of the box for the first time in his life. But still, he kept his eyes shut thinking that it would help.

But somebody has switched him on and he had no other choice rather than to open his eyes. It was all a blur at first, but it was getting clearer by the second. All he ever knew was the cold darkness and seeing the bright colours for the first time had left him breathless. He was so dumbstruck that his screen was so idle, not even a tiny stir. And in front of him was a cute little girl who was so happy that he had opened his eyes. She was jumping around seeing the wonderful gift she had got.

She came and clicked a button and said – “A”, clicked another and said – “B” and started running again with happiness.

So that is A and this is B.” – thought the laptop.

The little girl came back and started searching the keyboard.

So where is C? There it is.” – and she clicked it.

So that is C. I never knew I had such things in me, I thought all this was for decoration.

And so the day went on with the little girl trying out new keys and the laptop learning what it is. Days went past, Months went past, the laptop was learning more things than ever. Whatever the girl learnt in her lifetime, she taught her laptop as well. He was becoming brighter and better as time went on.

The years went past. She was attending college and she brought her beloved laptop with her for a presentation. She came to the stage and connected him to the internet for the first time. It was eternal bliss for him as the data surged all over him. He was blazing with information. He never knew that he could be so important and beloved. He thanked her for making a dumb tech like him to the top device that he is now.
