Chai

With each touch in my lips, its allure was something that I savoured.

The water was calm. It was flowing smoothly before it noticed it was getting picked up, not once, not twice, but four times to satisfy each person that lived in the house. It thought it was all sound from the unexpected whipping and bashing that it had a moment ago.

“Finally, I’m safe, but a bit cramped, I suppose.”

A calm and peaceful return, it thought, not noticing the slight clicking sound. A few minutes row it had before realizing that it’s burning. It started screeching and bubbling trying to escape the bounds as much as possible. It felt like its end is near. On comes the milk to the rescue, easing any pain that the water suffered till then. Like a lover, it came caressing the wounds while burning inside.

With some added herb, it felt soothing. Painful, but this pain was more relaxing than torment. It felt like a wound that spikes in pain when the medicine is applied but slowly calms down to tolerable satisfying pain. Both of them felt as though they were uniting together during this painful time. As the shy lovers they were, they joined hands together. With some sweetness added, their lives mixed in ecstasy. It felt as being reborn from the ashes together as one that had a purpose.

It all started like the calm before the storm. But now it had a purpose. A purpose to serve flavour to the lives who cherish their hardships.

Chai (tea) – my most favourite drink. It’s been a ride now that I think about it. A cup of hot brew cup of chai (tea) is enough to keep me rejuvenated through the day. It doesn’t feel like a beverage anymore but more like a part of my life itself.
