Resources and Apps I Use

These are the list of resources and apps that I use, whether it may be for personal, freelance or for work. I’ll put up a detailed review of all these products on why I enjoy using these.

Whenever I come across new resources and apps that I enjoy, I’ll make sure to add these here for you all.

For items marked as affiliate, I’ll receive a small portion if you decided to make any purchase using those links. Thanks in advance.

📝 Blog Platform + Hosting

1. WordPress

WordPress is one popular CMS used to build and host websites. I had used WordPress.com previously to start my blogs. They provide a lot of functionality and is easier to create, edit and post pages. WordPress allows you to create free domains, but with the wordpress.com extension to your domain names.

WordPress is an excellent CMS with the functionality to add themes, plugins and if you’re into technical design, you can edit the theme code and make changes to the design of your website.

2. Bluehost

Bluehost is the web hosting platform that I use to host both of my blogs (Edwin’s Journal & Stack Archives). They provide a reasonable price for my WordPress hosting products. I use a Bluehost Plus Plan as this provides a platform for unlimited websites (depending on data use) with reasonable price. This way, I need only to have this one for both of my domains. They also provide a free domain address for the first year. This hosting is a 3-year payment, therefore giving some leeway.

If you are interested to host your website, I recommend you choose Bluehost.

3. Google Analytics

I use Google Analytics as a secondary way to check website analytics. It’s mainly because there’s a lot of information that I can’t comprehend. I’m learning SEO, but till then WordPress analytics comes first and Google Analytics second. Once I understand how to use it better, I will switch to it.

If you’re owning a website, you definitely want to use this tool to track your analytics and optimize you contents for the audience.

4. Google Search Console

Google Search Console is a good tool to check the performance of the website and see if any page has any error and fix it. This can be very helpful to gain insight on which page is doing better and also to fix performance issues whenever they come up – both in desktop or mobile.

5. MailChimp

Mailchimp Logo

I started looking into Mailchimp to create newsletters for my blogs. I haven’t started using it yet, but have created various templates and it looked really good. I’m trying to go a minimal look with various information that I found in the internet alongside my content. This way, I’m hoping to share more relevant contents that intrigued me and possibly you too.
